It’s back! Architecture and design schools can once again ensure their students’ work reaches the widest possible audience with an affordable virtual school show on Dezeen.
Dezeen School Shows provides universities with an affordable digital platform to put the work of their students in front of Dezeen’s huge global audience of over three million monthly readers.
Dezeen School Shows viewed 500,000 times
The unique service was conceived last year as part of Dezeen’s hugely successful Virtual Design Festival (VDF) when most graduate shows were unable to take place in the real world due to the coronavirus pandemic.
We published 75 school shows for architecture and design courses around the world during the festival, including London’s Bartlett School of Architecture, New York’s Pratt Institute, Sydney’s University of New South Wales, UAE’s Zayed University and the Lucerne School of Art and Design.
These digital student showcases have generated over 500,000 page views to date and are among our most popular types of stories.
Dezeen School Shows a “special highlight” during the pandemic
The initiative was also extremely well received by the institutions that took part.
“The whole faculty is very excited and especially our students thrilled that they had this opportunity to finish an exhausting semester with such a special highlight,” said Roswitha Janowski-Fritsch, head of publications and PR at the University of Applied Arts Vienna’s Institute of Architecture.
“The results clearly tell the story,” said Ola Uduku, head of school at the Manchester School of Architecture. “I have also had non-architecture friends and family emailing me to say MSA is ‘in the news’.”
“The publication looks terrific,” said Jacquiann Lawton, head of school at the Caribbean School of Architecture. “The students and faculty have been posting it like wildfire in the chats!”
Dezeen School Shows is back
To build on this success, we are now relaunching the service as a permanent offering ahead of this year’s graduation season.
A school show post on Dezeen features profiles of up to 10 student projects, with extra profiles available for an additional fee.
Each student profile features one image and up to 100 words of text and can include a link to the student’s website and email address so that potential employers or clients can easily get in touch.
In addition, the post will feature up to 100 words about the course, including a link and email address.
Free Instagram Story slide for first 10 bookings
All school shows will be published at www.dezeen.com/schoolshows, a news feed of the latest student projects around the world.
In addition, each post will feature in Dezeen’s daily newsletter sent to 180,000 subscribers.
Coverage on Dezeen’s social media channels, which have a combined total of over six million followers, is available for an additional fee.
As a special offer to mark the relaunch of the service, the first 10 schools to book a school show will receive a free Instagram Story slide on our Instagram channel, which has over three million followers.
