With Stockholm Design Week ending on Sunday, here’s our pick of 10 furniture and lighting designs by Scandinavian brands that have been featured on Dezeen Showroom.

Our selection includes products by Swedish furniture company Hem, Danish brand &tradition and Norwegian outdoor furniture specialist Vestre.

Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the 2021 edition of Stockholm Design Week is taking place this week, albeit in a largely digital form.

Dezeen Showroom features dozens of chairs, lighting, storage solutions and more that have been launched by Nordic brands over the past few months.

Puffy lounge chair by Faye Toogood for Hem

British designer Faye Toogood has created Puffy lounge chair for Hem, which features detachable chubby upholstery that drapes over a modernist steel frame.

Launched last year, the chair features upholstery that is stitched together like a quilt using either leather or thick canvas and is available in neutral shades of cream, black and brown.

The Spanish Chair by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia

The Spanish Chair was created by Danish furniture designer Børge Mogensen for Fredericia and has been in production since 1958.

The chair is characterised by its broad armrests made from solid European oak that allow users to rest cups and glasses. The leather backrest is punctuated with cut-outs that frame the oversized arms.

Linear System Series by Thomas Bentzen for Muuto

Thomas Bentzen has created Linear System Series for Danish brand Muuto, which is a collection of furniture and lighting designed for workspaces, educational buildings and hospitality settings.

The collection comprises a pared-down oak table with power outlets and USB plugs; a pendant light, table lamp and mounted lamp that evoke classic library lighting; a moveable tray to hold accessories and a privacy screen to enhance concentration.

Rely chair by Hee Welling for &tradition

Hee Welling designed the HW13 Rely chair for &tradition, which can be customised with different colours and made-to-order upholstery available in various fabric or leather finishes.

The shell of the chair, which is made from 100-per-cent-recycled polypropylene, is injection moulded to create the seat and backrest as a single piece.

Storage Box by MOEBE

Storage Box by MOEBE

Danish studio MOEBE has designed a minimal and stackable storage unit as a practical solution for limited space and storage in homes.

Called Storage Box, the unit, which is made from oak wood with black-steel frames, can be flipped onto its shorter side to be used as a small table.

Lines tableware collection by NJRD

Lines is a collection of homeware made from Vitro porcelain created by Swedish design duo Bernadotte & Kylberg for their lifestyle brand NJRD.

The range, which includes bowls, jugs and plates, combines two different glazes so that the pieces are glossy on the inside and matte on the outside.

Pantop light by Verner Panton for Verpan

Verpan has rereleased Pantop light by midcentury Danish designer Verner Panton in eight new colours including forest green, mustard yellow, baby blue and pink, as well as a range of neutral shades.

The light, which can be used as a table lamp or pendant light, is composed of a bell-shaped metal shade propped up on a slender stand with a high gloss finish.

Emerge is a collection of neutral-toned woven flooring tiles created by Swedish design company Bolon.

Coast bench by Allan Hagerup for Vestre

Coast bench has been developed by urban furniture brand Vestre in collaboration with environmental initiative Ogoori.

The bench is made from marine plastic collected from beaches and waterways in Norway by volunteers, which has been recycled and amalgamated to form seat panels of varying shades of blue.

Haze lamp by Samuel Wilkinson for Zero Lighting

Haze is a lantern-like pendant lamp created by Samuel Wilkinson for Swedish brand Zero Lighting.

The lamp comprises a central sphere that has been covered by a 3D-printed fabric stretched across its exterior and is available in black, white or a teal-blue shade.
